Happy Eudaimonia Day! (November 2017)

Literally translated as happiness or welfare, “Eudaimonia” is a Greek word used by Aristotle to define the goal of human existence.  Often paraphrased as “human flourishing”, eudaimonia is more than hedonic happiness, i.e. the experience of pleasure or the avoidance of pain.  Rather it encompasses the happiness we experience by being generous and giving of our time, talents or treasure.  Involving our children in family giving traditions is an ideal way to demonstrate and reinforce why we give and to embed our values in the next generation.  And what better time to establish or maintain these giving traditions than Thanksgiving?

In the spirit of this ‘thankful’ season, I am pleased to announce the completion of our website overhaul.  Many contributed to this project and I am grateful to them all, from my team at Mendham Wealth, our web designers at Commonwealth, and our clients who provided invaluable feedback.  Take a moment to browse through it and let us know what you think: www.mendhamwealth.com.

I have so much to be thankful for and, as always, it begins with the relationships in my life.  It never ceases to amaze me how blessed I am to be surrounded by so many wonderful, caring, and generous people.

I wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving, filled with moments of eudaimonia.
