Time to get your Marie Condo on and clean out that garage! (March 2019)

Spring is moving in and old man winter is moving out!  Time to turn our attention to daffodils, bunny rabbits, spring cleaning, and Yankees baseball. Ok, ok, you can root for the Metties too (subway series anyone?), just not the Red Sox.

There’s a lot of grumbling in the air about the strength of the economy keeping up, the threat posed by an inverted yield curve, a risk of recession, etc.  How prepared are you if the stock market drops significantly?  If our economy enters a recession?  How prepared are you for another full-scale financial crisis?  At Mendham Wealth, we are not in the prediction game, so I am not telling you there is an impending doom of these things happening on X date.  We have an optimistic outlook on life here, but are also realists.  We ascribe to the motto: hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.  We know the key to financial success is to maintain balance between your Protection, Savings, and Growth components.  Sounds simple, but you would be amazed at how many folks are overemphasizing the latter component to the detriment of the overall plan.  If you would like a refresher on how we are positioning your entire model to capture opportunities, while also mitigating a whole host of risks, please do not hesitate to reach out.

3 Things to Focus on this month:

  1. Maintain a balanced approach on your model between Protection, Savings, & Growth
  2. Be charitable: it’s good for your health & soul and in NJ, may end up being good for your wallet too (we’ll keep you posted on the bi-partisan legislation that was just considered and advanced by the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee earlier this month)
  3. Move your body….outside: exercise is great, but the benefits to your body and mind increase dramatically if you exercise outdoors

Now get out and enjoy the warm-up this weekend and listen to what those birds have to say!
