Being grateful is as easy as: Stop, Look, Go (November 2018)

In the words of modern-day sage and Benedictine monk, David Steindl-Rast: Happiness does not lead to gratitude.  Gratitude leads to happiness.  In this TED talk from 2013, Brother Steindl-Rast gives an inspiring lesson in slowing down, looking where you’re going, and above all, being grateful:

While Thanksgiving has always been a favorite time of year for me, this one is even more meaningful.  There is nothing more important to me than the people in my life, starting with my family.  And life sometimes has a way of reminding us that we shouldn’t take anything for granted.  I hope you take the opportunity tomorrow and over the weekend to “Stop, Look, and Go”.  From there, we can learn to build more stop signs into our busy lives so we can spend more and more of our moments being grateful, which leads us to happiness, which leads us to making this a better world.

Have a wonderful, happy Thanksgiving surrounded by the people you love.  And if you can’t be with them, call them.  Tell those you care about how you feel about them.  What are you waiting for?
